Job Description Summary:
The Therapist within the Psychiatric Practices is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in the provision of therapeutic services. Therapist is responsible for delivering a full range of outpatient services remotely, through utilization of telehealth services. Therapist provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. Therapist demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. Therapist will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. Therapist will be familiar with electronic medical records and can provide evidence-based services across a range of virtual audio/visual electronic medical records systems. Therapist reports to the Assistant Director of Adult Psychiatric Practices.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Professional Counseling
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience providing telehealth services in outpatient setting
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing individual, group, marital, and family counseling in alignment with contractual agreement.
- Completes diagnostic intake assessments to ensure medical necessity is present and provides appropriate referrals based on client needs.
- Develops individualized treatment plans within expected time frame, consistent with evidence-based practices.
- Provides crisis services for patients during regular daytime operations
- Adheres to system quality and documentation standards as identified by accrediting agencies, Center and program policies and procedures, and local, state and federal guidelines.
- Displays willingness to assist with needs of other programs or services.
- Displays professionalism with clients, colleagues and administrative staff.
- Responsible for regularly collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of providers within Psychiatric Practices and other program components of the Center.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal office environment.
- Typical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
- Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
- Requires ability to remain calm during stressful events, to occasionally work irregular hours, and work with exasperated individuals.
